Lindholmen – an island in Stockholm

Lindholmen is a small island in Lake Mälaren just outside the district Gröndal in Stockholm municipality. The island is just over 220 meters long and 80 meters wide.

Lindholmen has no permanent residents , but there are five buildings built by watchmaker Johan Gustaf Linderoth in the 1880s. Urmakarvillan (two composite buildings), Östra villa, Kastellet, Utsiktspaviljongen and the bathhouse.

The island is managed by Lindholmens Vänner, who work to carefully renovate the houses and preserve the island’s unique environment.
